What is a Will?

A will sets out how you want your estate to be distributed and managed after your death. Your estate generally includes real estate, tangible personal property (e.g., Vehicles and jewellery), and intangible property (e.g. Bank accounts, stock, and bonds). Having a will that accurately reflects your wishes and financial circumstances can help your loved ones deal more easily with your estate after your death.

If you die without a will, your estate and who has authority to administer your estate will be determined by the laws of British Columbia. This means that your personal wishes are subordinated by BC law and there is no clear document for your loved ones to by guided by. Passing without a will can therefore create unnecessary stress and uncertainty for your family and friends.

We can help you prepare a clear and comprehensive will so that you and your loved ones have security when you die.
